The Las Vegas Christmas Slowdown

Business out here in December is as slow as cold molasses. After the rodeo leaves (which ended yesterday but we all know they aren’t big spenders) there really isn’t a darn thing that comes through Vegas until the new year. Thankfully though at the New Year CES comes around. Surprisingly even though Las Vegas is known for the biggest spot to hold conventions, only certain conventions you actually see a return cash wise on the amount of people that are in town. For example, the NAB conference (National Association of Broadcasters) is one convention that blows my mind every year. In mid-April it comes into town with 140,000 people who work for NBC, Toshiba, or Sony yet if I don’t go out to the casinos to find a customer at the bar I will be broke. My phone doesn’t ring from the services and when it does it ends up being a waste of time. On the other end, a show like the wireless phone convention in May who has 15,000 attendants (these are people who sell cell phones for a living.. not the big income kind of guy) I will make quite a bit of money on. There is just no easy formula for this town. I have yet to figure it out.

Last night ended up being okay. I was boasting about my regular yesterday who ended up standing me up by the end of the night. I think I spoke too soon about him being a good regular. He says he swears he will call me next time but we will have to see about that. Luckily after a few small tips and some base calls (calls where only the fee was collected) a guy called me off of my Eros ad and immediately said what he wanted to tip. That always kind of makes me nervous because I definitely don’t agree to any entertainment on the phone for my safety. I said I like to meet you first and give you a strip tease… he said sure and I headed over there. He passed my little test to feel safer and everything worked out so I didn’t have to stay for very long. He got a discount anyway. I figured if I hassled him for more money then he might think I am a hustling him and would ask me to leave. Believe it or not it happens..

What do you mean by “base” and “tip”? Are you an “ala carte” girl? or is base just what goes to the agency alone?

confused. Keep writing, as there are few (if any) vegas bloggers).

Many Vegas girls work for agencies where a major cut of the base amount goes to the people who set the whole thing up for the girl.

In many cities, the way Vegas girls operate is called “upselling” and is looked down on, it’s often standard business practice in Las Vegas.

Please correct me if I have gotten details incorrect, but this is what I have learned about the scene in Vegas.

Lets say the base rate is 100 bucks. That 100 dollars gets the girl in the door. A percentage of that goes to the girl who directed the call to the escort to shows up, a percentage goes to the agency itself for giving you the call in the first place.

Lets say that’s a total of 40%. (Note that my numbers are definitely off, but you’ll get the idea here) Now the escort is left with 60 dollars for a one hour appointment.

Would ANY woman provide a full service one hour appointment for 60 dollars flat? Oh HELL no. So let’s start with the tipping, which is pretty much required for the biz down there.

    Examples:
Another 100 if you want a BJ.
Another 100 if you want FS.
Another 300 if you want greek.

    etc, etc.

What is “ok” in Vegas, isn’t ok to do in other major cities… I know for a fact I’d be out of business fast if I upsold my services.

But I DO understand why its done, and if I was only getting, for instance, 60 bucks a call, I’d definitely require tips for additional services.

Oh, I’ve been upsold, trust me. I must have made my Las Vegas encounters before the Chinese menu principle took root. But my outcalls were not cheap. Like $300 over ten year ago, so I think it was all-inclusive.

I do remember that the ecort ad paper I used to find a girl appeared to be part of a very elaborate dispatching system for one huge service. Like I said, neither girl was the one in the picture, but both were girls I was happy to see.
