First It Was Blue Host, Now Content Thieves!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Go get your own stuff, people! I was recently going through my Google Analytics and noticed a site that has jumped in referring visits and had never heard of it so I go to visit the site and check it out. Come to find out my blog has been copied and pasted as some sort of “escort news” on their site. Though they are giving a link to my site after every post, it’s being used like it’s their own content and reporting on the escort news around Vegas. Posts along with my photos are copied and pasted to their page. This gets my head hot like no other (but not as bad as my fiasco with my old hosing company) when I see people do this. I’ve written a couple of emails and such to get them to take down the content so we shall see how it goes. If no response in a few days then I have to go to the next level. Sorry, had to vent. I will write about more interesting things next….

Catastrophe Avoided… BlueHost.com Is Officially The Worst Hosting Company

Monday, August 25th, 2008

So I have had problems with my hosting company, BlueHost last weekend and yet again this weekend especially on Saturday nights. Last weekend their server was down for a few hours for who knows what but either way… no isp should be DOWN. So this past Saturday I had troubles yet again and caused panic. While my web guru called them up to deal with them, things were eventually resolved because said guru keeps awesome backups and my site was screwed due to BlueHost’s lack of managing their servers and whatever they were doing Saturday night.

So early Sunday morning I am informed that my site is SUSPENDED due to a conflict of their terms of service because of my content. Go look for their terms of service on their site and you will never find it. I was never sent one and my site has been hosted with them for almost a year since I moved things over to my own domain. Now that I had been calling to request some actual customer service, they took a look at my site and deemed it unacceptable. Come to find out they are located in Utah and have some sort of religious morals they are trying to preach. Any site on their servers may not contain photos causing sexual arousal (not even listed as pornography) nor any written content may cause sexual arousal. Not even words are good for them. Wow.. what a bunch of assholes. No warning.. took my money gladly for a year and poof.. gone.

I want to thank my web tech for pulling his hair out for almost 24 hrs trying to move my site and put it on one that doesn’t mind adult content. So may this be a lesson…. go with the guys who allow any content because I don’t support people who don’t even respect the 1st Amendment. BlueHost go move to China because that’s where you belong. In a close mouthed, communist society.
🙂

Now back to the naked stuff!

Tips For Booking An Escort Online in Las Vegas

Monday, March 24th, 2008

I saw a comment someone posted (number 6) on this entry and thought, “Hey that would be a good idea for a post!” At first I thought it was spam but I don’t think it is… well whatever the case is it gave me a good idea. Basically the person listed a whole bunch of sites which are not related to each other (some are owned by the same agencies though) and asked which ones would be good to deal with and which ones had their real girls pictured, etc. I wont list these sites again because, hey, they are my competition! What I will do is give some pointers to people who do shop around on the web for escorts and maybe how to save a little cash.

Escort web sites in Las Vegas are a dime a dozen. There are some companies that own several sites as a group but unless you really know the owners personally, you might not know that from just looking at them. For the most part, the girls on these websites are just models. Due to sketchy owners around Las Vegas in the past I don’t sign model releases so that my pictures will go on their site for fear if I quit working there my picture will stay there, plus a lot of girls are scared they will be found by friends or family. There is no guarantee that I will even actually get the calls from my ad on their site so why bother? I have independent ventures of my own and would like to keep it that way. Usually what happens is the phone girl tries to match up the girl in the picture with a girl who looks very similar to the model the guy is requesting. Some people are honest about this practice and some just take the chance. Some guys understand, some get pissed and won’t let the girl into the room. I understand if a guy gets pissed because you’re starting the whole thing off on a lie.

Eros, at least for Las Vegas, is a hit or miss. I have my own personal ads on there along with some of the girls but I would say approximately 50% or more at models that ring a number to an agencies office. Usually when the girl says “it’s $250-$300 to reserve your time up to an hour and get me naked” it’s probably a service. When I get calls I quote my minimum to start and tell them how that isn’t a fee but any other entertainment I can discuss in person and it goes up from there. If we don’t work something out then no hard feelings… just gas money would be nice. I have never had anyone turn me down once they met me 🙂

My hint for saving money? If you are for sure you are dealing with a service (don’t try this if you aren’t sure) then try to talk the fee down and see if they will still send you a girl. It may or may not work depending on the company or the phone girl. It leaves more money for you to tip for what you really want.

Another tip… if you find a website that you like and want a girl, the best way I think to get a girl you like is just give the phone girl a description of what you want. If the girl who shows up isn’t what you like, they can always try again. After all they want to make you happy and spend your money, of course.

Most annoying thing to me? Is when I explain I am 100% independent and tell them there isn’t a fee just to show up, they argue or hang up. Don’t always assume the girl is from a service!

Well… I haven’t been working much lately this week due to an out of town visitor followed by a respiratory infection. Yuck. I sound lovely.

Good Booking Etiquette of an Escort in Las Vegas

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

I get lots of calls from lots of different people from my web ads. Some nervous and fumbling over words only to get out, “how much?” while others are pompous and act offended that I just don’t incriminate myself over the phone with a detailed menu. Whatever the case may be, here’s a few pointers I am making into a mini-series of entries of what NOT to do when calling.

#1: Don’t book a call many months in advance
This just makes me want to giggle when I get calls in December about some trip they are planning for August. I ask where they think they might be staying or what is the purpose of their trip and they have no clue. Yes, I do think they are just calling to see if there is really a girl in Vegas who is going to answer the phone but sometimes I think the guy just gets so excited they are escaping from whatever torturous town they are living in to come to Sin City and decide to line up a girl *first* before anything else.
Yesterday I got a call from a girl here locally who is a newlywed and “more experienced” than her husband (who is many years younger). She said she wanted it to be a surprise for him for their next years anniversary. I said “Oh when is your anniversary?” she replies, “January 25th or so”. I thought to myself, “oh okay.. in a week which is for their upcoming year” but I decide to make sure and ask, “so in a week?”
“Oh no.. next year.. like 2009”
It took a lot to hold that giggle back. Well, at least she will have time to save for it.

And for your information, the longest time from a booked call to the actual meet up date in person has been 2 weeks, tops. Maybe in other cities pre-booking so far in advance works, but here where people’s attention span goes right out the window the second they land at McCarren Airport.. it just never ends up working out.

Stay tuned for the rest of this series!
