Good Booking Etiquette of an Escort in Las Vegas Part III

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I wanted to update a little and add to the series I started months ago here and here since I run into good pointers to give while trying to book clients who call me.

Don’t ask pointed questions about prostitution or specific entertainment over the phone:
It makes me really come off as the bad person or that I am trying to turn clients off when I have to recite my little “I’m sorry but prostitution is illegal here in Las Vegas” speech and though I hate doing it, I have to say it to cover my own rear. I have had people hang up on me or just give me a short answer of, “well, I’ll call back later” which of course means never. If they don’t just give up on me then I explain that I would love to meet them and work out all of the entertainment and details in person, I don’t charge for me to come over (though gas money would help!) and prove that I am not a shady escort. Though jaecyn posted that he had an ugly run in during a call from an internet site, I know myself and others aren’t bad like this. I know I am a little more easy going than some girls and all, but I really hate it when people push me and try to get something out of me to spill the beans about what I really do and for how much. In the end I like working out any deal I can. Especially these days its just silly to not make anything you can.
So how do you handle situations where you want to learn more but can’t ask? It’s a tough question because there is no right answer. Simply, if you like the picture, like the girl on the phone and have the gut feeling that she is truly an independent or you don’t mind dealing with an agency, then give it a shot. If you don’t like her at the door or can’t work something out then the polite thing is to maybe give a little something for her time if you feel generous.
Anyway… hoped this all helped a little. Flat lands and driving make me bored bored (don’t worry I am no driving and typing!).

Feeling The Economic Crunch In Las Vegas: Prostitutes Are Getting Creative!

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

So last night I originally started this blog at 3am sitting at an agency bored out of my mind, deafened by the silence of the phones, and scribbling words down on my little note pad (not too comfortable taking my new laptop out of its cocoon of my house yet) then realizing that things have really slowed down in Vegas compared to last July. My phone rang right when I was thinking that and had to run off to Treasure Island where I made a decent amount of money. Though I don’t believe in luck… I sure did feel lucky to have that one call.

Anyway, last night aside, it’s been a slow few weeks… painfully slow at times. Even the 4th of July holiday was dreadfully bad. I think I spent more on gas than I made in tips. Recently I saw an article in the newspaper about how gambling profits are down 15% in Las Vegas and MGM Mirage lost something like 30% in their first quarter. First time anything has slumped at all in about a decade. The whole fuel situation with the airlines is causing major issues too since they have cut flights coming into Las Vegas plus the California drivers have been less plentiful this summer unlike previous years. It doesn’t help that people don’t promote bargains here anymore like before, its now all about bigger and better and charging at least $1000 for it.

Last night I went to fill my car up and noticed a girl hanging around the front of the convenience store and could instantly tell what she was up to and was waiting for her “ride”. Another car pulled up when she got into immediately but I guess he was broke and only ended up giving him her number. She hopped out and quickly jumped into another car, which left the station. Guess that guy worked out. All while pumping my gas I thought to myself, “wow, I wonder if the 7-11 lots will become the new ‘track’” Not too long before this trip to the gas station I had been at the Imperial Palace for a call and noticed a high number of prostitutes walking the Strip. Usually girls keep from looking so obvious and stay away from the street due to the officers who stand by watching and pluck girls off the street to put them in their paddy wagons hiding around the corner.

I guess when times get hard you have to resort to things you wouldn’t normally do and suffer the consequences if caught. Thankfully I haven’t resorted to these measures and hopefully wont, though after making $0 two nights in a row, it seems tempting! Nah..

Las Vegas Escort Agencies: How Do They Really Work?

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I have a lot of customers who see me through agencies I work for who are confused and a lot of times want to argue about what and what I do not make out of initial fees. Lately the trend is for people to argue that I am lying about how much of the fee they paid do I actually keep. When I tell them honestly I make nothing out of it they cry bullshit and sometimes it ends up souring my mood when people want to argue right off the bat. I mean if a fee is a couple of hundred dollars and the girl actually got to keep a portion of it then it would be along the lines of $50 which barely fills up a tank of gas these days…

So my point to all of this is to share with people how things really break down here in Las Vegas with escort services compared to other cities. Things work differently everywhere you go when trying to find an escort whether in the U.S. or abroad and hopefully I can explain things that go on behind-the-scenes with agencies.

Each company works a little differently but all around they generally follow the same guidelines:

Company #1: One of the main companies I work for relies solely on the referral business from cab drivers, limo drivers, and VIP hosts. Since cabbies and the like can be tough to deal with this company has been forced to raise their fees up over the years that I have worked for them. Their fee is now $250-$300. Yea it’s nuts and it does sometimes cause problems when customers really don’t believe that I walk away with any of that amount. Believe me I don’t! This is how it breaks down:

$250 fee collected = Cabbie gets $200 of it + $50 goes to owner of the company
Girl is tipped lets say $400 = 20% to the phone girl who booked the call and depending on the tip the company gets what’s called a “bring up” of $25. The more the entertainer gets tipped… the more the “bring up” is. Each company has their own “bring up” levels.

In the end, this example of a call gets split up like this
Cabbie= $200
Owner= $75
Phone Girl= $80
Entertainer= $295

Company #2: This example applies to a number of other companies I work for. They advertise by handing out those cards on the strip, magazines in the racks on the road, mobile billboard trucks, and the internet.

The fees range from $100 a girl to $250 depending on the where the customer found the advertisement and can be lowered depending on the circumstances. This fee goes 100% back to the company. The entertainer works off of tips after the fee is collected and is up to the girl to negotiate that of course. Some of these types of companies charge 10% for the bring up and 20% goes to the phone girl.

For example if a girl made $500 tip and picked up a $150 fee it would break down like this:
Owner/Company= $200 ($150 fee + $50 from the 10% “bring up”)
Phone Girl = $100
Entertainer = $350

So why do I work for agencies? You can read that in my previous post about questions asked repeatedly… In the end I just can’t solely live off of my internet bookings. After all this is a town where people act on impulse not necessarily something they would plan as much as if they were back home.

Brothels and Prostitution 101

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

Recently I found an article in the Review Journal about a school from Lynchburg, Virginia who decided to take a field trip to the brothels outside of Las Vegas. Not your ordinary field trip for sure. The class sounded like an interesting one though and consisted of examining how we all are consumers and what do we consume. They visited northeastern Nevada where they want to pipe water for several hundred miles to Las Vegas (a plan I don’t agree with for sure), some farms, and last but not least the Chicken Ranch Brothel out in Pahrump, Nevada (one of Las Vegas’ closest bordellos people can visit). Apparently the media got a hold of such a field trip and decided to join the 11 women visiting from the Virginia school at the Chicken Ranch. I wish I would have known because I would have wanted the tour as well! I have read the book about the Mustang Ranch by Alexa Albert and have always been curious to learn more about the legal side of prostitution.

Anyway why I mentioned this article is because I was slightly shocked at the women being open minded to such a discussion. One girl was quoted saying, “”People keep asking me if this has changed my opinion about prostitution. I’m not sure I had an opinion on prostitution.” She said also that she “found it hard to condemn the industry after seeing it in person.” Good article and I love hearing about normal people experiencing different things and having an open mind about it. Wish more Americans were the same way… Here is a little more information on Las Vegas brothels.

Need Tax Help? Las Vegas CPA Getting Creative

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Okay to make up for my lacking picture posts I will post two, today. One of me and one of the funniest advertising I have seen for anything related to this industry.

I went to drop off a fee at an office that is upstairs of a building that mainly rents to outcall services and houses the office for Sapphire Strip Club. Due to zoning restrictions and few locations available near the Strip, there aren’t many places these businesses can rent and get the necessary license to operate from the city of Las Vegas. So I walk upstairs and there is the directory for the businesses and underneath it is taped this sign:

I read it (since who doesn’t need tax help in this industry?) and started laughing out loud. What a brave man to advertise his services to prostitutes in such a manner! Funny thing is he might offend more than get business from girls who are in fact, hoes, but rather be called a different word. I am still giggling

A Girl In Las Vegas With No Soul? No way

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

I had an up and down night last night. A bunch of calls where phone girls were sending me on bull and taking advantage of my patience and calmer attitude . I sometime have a hard time telling them no or asking a bunch of questions about the legitimacy of the call (no one likes to work with a bitch for an escort) and a few girls were totally using that to send me to downtown then to the other end of the strip and they all be a waste of an hour or so.

I called off for that service and got a call from another one to the Motel 6 across from the MGM Grand. Hooray. That place can be creepy but a lot of people go there to escape whoever is staying with them in their regular hotel room. This client was escaping his sister and brother in law at the MGM Signature. I go in and he is steadily drinking a bottle of champagne with his shaky hand and plastic some-assembly-required champagne glass. I collect the fee and start talking about tips. He is pretty limited to his funds and the nearest ATM is a block away so we just decide to just work with what he has and that he fully knew what he was getting for his money. Half way through he acted like he never knew he wasn’t getting sex and was disappointed. I hate it when clients do that half way through a session only to ruin the vibe and their erection by acting dumb about what we solidly agreed to before hand. We leave on good terms and he begs me for a hug as I am walking out.

Anyway, I go to the service office and turn in my fee and watch TV for a bit. Almost a whole hour after I left the room he client calls the office to tell them that I have no soul. I hear her reply, “Well you were the one who called us, sir. What does that make you? She only came over at your request.” He apparently repeated back, “Well she has no soul” and the girl on the phone back said, “Oh really? Then what does that make you?” and hung up. I don’t know how he got from begging me for a hug as I left to me not having a soul. He wanted a girlfriend I suppose and nothing makes some people happy. Sad
