The Las Vegas Courtesan

I got a little hate mail from a woman a few weeks ago which is really my first email of the sort. It brought up some things that I have issues with — how oftentimes police and governmental agencies, special interest groups of all sorts, and even society as a whole place blame on all sex workers for some of the dark sides of humanity. They all want to believe that any sort of prostitution is a bad thing and all prostitutes are to blame for horrible child prostitution and sex trafficking that goes on in the world. The act of prostitution is even compared to a parasite by the author of the email. Furthermore, she says that we (read: sex workers) are selling ALL of women’s sexuality. Really? I don’t remember forcing or imposing myself, my personal choices, and my occupation on any other women in this world or anyone else, for that matter. My existence in the sex industry does not mean that I am hurting or damaging fellow females, to say nothing of the other horrible criminal acts she mentions. In fact, I see it as quite the opposite. I am doing something that they do not want to do and I am not imposing myself on anyone and their sexual lives. Just because some husbands or partners decide to see a sex worker does not make me guilty of forcing them to call an escort agency or meet a working girl in a bar. They act in their own freewill and do as they please as a rational human searching for something they feel like they lack in their own private lives.

As far as the “parasite of human trafficking and forced prostitution” goes, you can only blame those who try to abuse the system and the girls and boys that they affect. To say someone like myself is somehow guilty by association of trade is not only terribly offensive, it is just illogical and plain wrong. This same sort of blame could be placed on a lot of other industries, but it’s usually forgotten or not done.  Let’s take, for example, the sneaker or shoe making market. There are people who consider themselves masters of this trade, true craftsmen, and sell their product to the general public. Just because this cobbler makes shoes ethically while there are children forced to work in factories in many countries for pennies a day to make similar shoes (for large U.S. corporations at times, no less,) you can not place blame on the cobbler for his trade having a dark side by greedy people who want to make money at the hands of those children or even underpaid workers. It would be completely ludicrous to blame the local shoe repair guy for indirectly “encouraging” the inhumanity going on in some countries. It’s the same with prostitution. You can’t blame a local sex worker for the greedy and inhumane practices that these criminals are known for, but this is all you see in the news or in the papers. Our society is heavily biased against prostitutes to the point of dehumanizing us, and the people writing the “news” articles or “reporting” on television are themselves very often biased just like most of the rest of our culture.  It’s so commonplace and accepted as “okay,” it seems sometimes that sex workers are the last “special interest group” in the United States that is still – daily – dehumanized in the media and not treated with the same care as every other group that gets coddled to.  Just think about it for a minute before you make up your mind if I am right or wrong – when was the last positive news article you read or television “exposé” you watched that was not heavily slanted? The government convinces everyone that the sex industry is only filled with bad people and abusers of fellow humans to make a buck and if it isn’t the government it’s people like this allegedly “pro-women” person who is attacking another woman.  They never point out the good people or the educated women making a decision for themselves to make a business out of pleasure. It all gets twisted into us selling our bodies like we sold ourselves to the devil unintentionally or someone forced us to do it because we are powerless – helpless, even. We can and have made up our own minds, and of our own accord, to be in this industry. We are not selling the sexuality of other women because that is their own decision to make. Our job doesn’t influence them just like their desk job at a corporation doesn’t influence me.  I think we need to stop pointing the finger at the profession and point them at the true criminals.

I have never seen anything of the sort since becoming a sex worker, but in case you ever doubted, let me make this point very clear: if I EVER come across criminal activity involving children in any shape or form, and in particular prostitution, I will be the first person to report it to the authorities.  That makes me sick.

Beyond your cute “ha ha prostitution is such a crazy gig!!” blog entries, I have no doubt that underneath it you know that what you do is hideous. Making a buck for yourself off of how lucrative women’s bodies are in this world?   Besides the obvious issue of the parasite human trafficking/forced prostitution industries that will always follow that lucrativeness, there are lots of intelligent women who understand that what you are really selling is all women’s sexuality. And we don’t appreciate it one bit. While all of us have to put up with the consequences of our bodies being commodities (a concept you wholly endorse and encourage by being a hooker) we kind of really disdain women who, as I said, use that damaging image to make few bucks for themselves, selling what is not theirs to sell.  It’s very selfish and frankly, very ignorant of you.

I get asked this question quite a bit by nervous guys who feel like they are somehow inadequate to women and figure who better to ask than a girl who sees a lot of penises? I can see their reasoning’s why I might be a good person to ask….

I really started thinking about it when a Chinese guy in his early 20’s struck up a conversation while I was getting ready to leave.  He is going to school in the states for a few years and had observed some things, but was especially concerned about the discussion of penis size.  I think he had seen some pornographic movies since living here and asked, “So white men, they are like this long, huh?” and held up his hands to make a length of almost a FOOT. I almost died laughing watching him try to judge what he thought was the normal size of other men. Then he went on to say, “because I know… Chinese man is very small, huh?” I said to him that I don’t know what he watched or what he was judging it on, but if he was basing it on watching porno movies since living in the US then he shouldn’t be so concerned. I think the men that are in said movies are approximately 2% of the population and since they seem to last longer sometimes (I know they do several shots and takes to make it seem like they come once an hour) I think the size + stamina drops the stats down even further.  Maybe I am wrong, but I very very rarely see men who could audition for some sort of porn movie role.  Sounds crazy but true.

The average client I see has a penis between the length of 4-6 inches. The typical stamina of clients is fairly quick, which goes along with some statistics I read that the average man lasts 4-6 minutes. I think sometimes things last longer, here in Vegas, just because of the amount of drinking and partying that people do and THEN decide to call a prostitute. Usually those people can’t finish or get it up. I can usually tell this is going to happen within the first 2 minutes of starting to entertain a guy. Back to penis size though… I know a lot of people will disagree with my numbers but here’s my theory: maybe men who are significantly larger have more self confidence and they don’t feel the need to use the services of a prostitute or maybe they feel like they have something to prove and won’t use their services.  The one thing that shocks me the most though is the number of men who look like their penis was marred by a bad circumcision.  I see quite a few that point weird directions, come to a small point like a rocket, have super skinny shafts but a big mushroom head or vice versa, and the most painful of all: are hooked almost as much as Gonzo’s nose on the Muppets.

Either way, I hope I dismissed some myths and I know I definitely gave a little more confidence to the Chinese student by assuring him that he was normal and don’t worry about competing with the porn stars.

So when I go out of town for a few days it’s hard to get back into a writing groove. Worked last night after being gone for the weekend. Apparently I didn’t miss too much and last night was okay though every client seemed to just want to pay the minimum prices. Oh well, it adds up and it’s still more than I would have made by working in a strip club.

So I have noticed a shift in the girls who freelance around Vegas casinos. A lot of times on my blog I have had people ask where to find such girls and where do they frequent. It’s all depending on the month and what I believe to be a change in the security management. I know that such companies as MGM/Mirage switch their upper level staff around until they find a perfect match for the needs of that casino, and I am sure they do the same with security when they see one of their casinos is being overrun with prostitutes and loitering pimps. One month the place to be will be at the Monte Carlo and the girls will be plentiful, then you hear of such stories of girls being written trespassing tickets for being in the parking lot walking to their car, being followed to rooms (which happened to me), or being told to turn around as soon as they walk in the front door. Last night I was walking through the New York, NY Casino after entertaining a client (he didn’t believe bars were open 24 hours) and saw 8-10 hookers loitering between the elevator and the parking garage. Total distance would be something like 20 yards. That’s incredible. It’s only a matter of time until New York, NY tightens their security like they used to have and becomes the next spot girls get harassed.

I am slightly annoyed with these girls and their thought process of how to work. Each girl hears through the grapevine of where to go and what casino is considered good with the least amount of security. It only takes a few weeks before said casino is infiltrated by a horde of girls, like New York NY is experiencing. Quickly the casino tightens up security and the fun is over for everyone. These girls have bounced around so much in these packs that now almost every casino is difficult to get in and out of for us girls who like to be more discreet.

I have also noticed a shift in girls who used to walk the track along West Tropicana Road have moved to the east side of the strip on Flamingo and up along Harmon by the Hard Rock Hotel. The funniest thing I see? Girls walking with their ass hanging out but threw on a pair of sandals or sneakers like it would throw the cops off. Who are they fooling? Not me for sure!

Not too often do you hear stories about people murdering people inside of major Strip casino hotels, butapparently this happened last night between two prostitutes. Unfortunately I only became aware of this incident after being inside of Bally’s on some ridiculously large bachelor party that was getting rowdy. I almost panicked when I became aware of it because this is not the kind of publicity us girls need in Strip casinos.

Apparently two of the three girls were arguing in the lobby of the hotel when one girl pulled out a knife and stabbed the other girl in the neck. The victim walked out into the valet of the hotel where she collapsed and later died at a hospital. Though the newspapers don’t have the motive, one girl at the large bachelor party that I was at in Bally’s said she knew one of the girls from a friend. The motive was something along the lines of one of the girls had a baby by a guy who was now with the other girl and was mad about it. Of course this is all hearsay from a girl, so who knows what the truth is, just something I heard through the “hooker grapevine” as one cop called it a few years ago. Lets hope this doesn’t backlash working girls in casinos, because the last thing I want is drama over something like this.

Well it seems as if Steve Wynn is all over the newspapers lately, and not in the best or most appealing way. Besides my previous blog story about being slapped by prostitutes on his own property, him and Joe Francis of the Girls Gone Wild fame have been flinging lawsuits at each other like they are going out of style. Joe has a 2 million dollar gambling debt at the Wynn casino and doesn’t plan paying it off which has resorted the casino in filing a case against him for unpaid debts. Joe Francis comes back with a lawsuit against Wynn and the casino saying that his tab is falsified and Steve Wynn used tactics like providing hookers to run up this debt. Now Wynn and his lawyers have filed a defamation suit back saying that these claims are untrue and are libel.

I just end up giggling at all of this mess that happens in Las Vegas. Only in May the casino had to file suit against Charles Barkley for his $400,000 in gambling debt at the Wynn casino. I think Barkley has since paid it back but has been bad mouthing the casino all over radio shows and appearances that the casino “will get theirs one day”. It’s a casino… that’s their job is to take your money so I can’t think of how they would get “theirs” like something illegal took place.

I had always heard rumors from girls who have worked in Las Vegas for 15-20 years previously as prostitutes and now as girls who answer the phones as escort services, that Steve Wynn used to be notorious for having ladies over at the Mirage in it’s opening hay days and that he was quite a party animal and spender. I am sure he has grown up since then and just likes to make his customers happy now with girls. Do I believe that Steve Wynn falsified documents and the $2 million in debt is untrue? No… I am sure it is completely true because this is not the mob days of doctoring books and the agencies track things really well now. I think Joe Francis has been getting away with a lot of things in the past years with his Girls Gone Wild empire but it’s all starting to catch up with him. Sorry Joe… not everything is for free. Especially girls!

While I was gone a friend shared this story with me (I hate to link to TMZ since it’s so silly but for some reason it was the most detailed report I could find!) and I nearly died laughing. Wow, they really beat out all of the other girls I can think of for the “Dumbest Prostitute of The Year” award. Apparently how the story goes is that there were two sisters were in the VIP valet area when one of them approached Steve Wynn and solicited him. In the police report it was reported that she said, “Do you want to get laid?” which is just absolutely ridiculous because no girl, I don’t care how dumb, would say that. They would say “do you want a date” or “lets go have a drink in your room” not just straight out “wanna fuck?” Anyway, Steve Wynn gets peeved and grabs the girl in some sort of chokehold according to the girls and when she struggles to get away he latches on tighter and calls for security. Meanwhile, the sister came up and open-hand slapped Steve Wynn in the face. Wow, that takes some nerve and I am sure this girl had no idea who she was dealing with.

What ticks me off is the police report since it’s obviously doctored up for Mr. Wynn and his “side” of the story. I believe what TMZ posted is the real report since the font and styling is like reports I have had from car incidents. Besides what I mentioned earlier of the verbal exchange between the two, the part about how he merely “wrapped his arms around [her] shoulders” is I think far from the truth because if someone was so nicely and gently “wrapping” their arms around someone and there was a struggle, this hold would not have kept her contained. I don’t think he physically wrapped has hands around her neck or something, but I am sure quite a bit more force was used than told in the report. On Fox 5 Las Vegas’ site they got to interview one of the sisters and she claimed that Steve Wynn had approached her and repeatedly called her Jaime like a mistaken identity. Who knows but things smell fishy from both sides and I am sure the girls will have to find a good lawyer to defend themselves. Also there are rumors one of the sisters is trying to sue Wynn but I doubt that will happen.

Oh and another thing to point out that seems sketchy… how would some random girl be able to walk up to a big casino mogul like that without 30 security guys protecting him? Sheldon Adelson has crazy security guards, along with Kirk Kirkorian and etc. It was also stated the first person to “help” was a valet guy? Quite pathetic if that was my first line of defense being the casino owner.

So I’ve been back in Vegas for a few days. Got the bags finally unpacked and have been busy keeping house since my brain just doesn’t want to get back on schedule! The first two days I came back were mediocre but last night ended up being decent and I am quite pleased. Lets keep that going!
