Yea it is more greasy feeling but doesn’t taste sweet like the old lube, which I like. Of course it can’t be petroleum based but I have a feeling it’s more silicone based since it is harder to wash off, etc. I’m sure you can call Trojan if you’re concerned and they can help you more with what the new lube is made of. I am finally running out of the old boxes and will have to update if I have more issues with the new ones than the old ones.

That’s interesting, I had bought a box of Magnums with the “new lube”, opened one up and spent the next half hour trying to wash the greasy stuff off my hands (which didn’t quite work, btw). I later took the box back to the store and got my money back. Now my partner and I are on the look-out for the old style Trojans before they’re all gone. I think the “new lube” is nasty, it feels more like something petroleum-based than water-based, and I don’t want it anywhere near my lady-parts. I’m sure the lubrication probably lasts longer, but it just feels too chemical (I could not find a list of ingredients anywhere, and I’ve spent a few good hours refining my search terms). Wouldn’t know anything about the taste, but I don’t think I want it anywhere near my mouth, either. It would be good to know your experience with the stuff after a few months of use (as far as alergic reactions, etc), since at some point that will be all that’s available to us (Magnums are the only type of condom my partner can use without whining about the fit like the little bitch he is, lol). Also would be interested to know your lube preference, and whether you check the ingredients on things that contact your lady-parts. I’ve noticed that some lubes contain aspartame, which probably wouldn’t cause yeast like a natural sweetener, but is pretty harmful in other ways.

if you are going to double up, be sure to put a lot of lube in between ‘em… but yeah, it’s not the best idea.

also, while trojans have traditionally been the thickest brand, they are also the brand most vulnerable to breakage. I believe this is because while they are thicker, the thickness is inconsistent so the thinner areas are more susceptible to stress. Lifestyles is a good brand. it can be interesting to pick up several different kinds and see how difficult it is to break them using your hands. tougher than you might think – may give you more faith in the things! I think you are on the right track with using a lot of lube and being conscious of what is going on.

WRT latex allergies – Avanti is a good brand of latex-free vinyl condoms – just in case! glad to hear that is not cropping us as an excuse to avoid being safe.

Lol Thanks Anne. Yea I never ever ever use petroleum based anything. So many girls don’t even know this fact and don’t carry lube with them at all and resort to using lotions in the hotel room. Only thing I use the lotion for is if I get a massage request… and I’m not talking about a hand job

“petroleum based lubricants don’t go well with latex” — it doesn’t go *at all* with latex – it weakens the structure of latex and it will get very fine holes in it which are too small to see but way, way, way larger than germs of any kind, much less viruses.

Whoever Scott is must do condom research, I take it? I’d take the lady’s word for it on what “works” – experience speaks, and clearly, that jerk-off hasn’t had much of it.

scott is correct regarding doubling up on condoms. Spermicide or other back-up methods are better insurance against condom failure. Also petroleum based lubricants don’t go well with latex. Use only water based lubricants. Amazing how there is a lot to know about using a simple device. Hope you don’t take offense. Just trying to look after you.

FWIW as a man I most like Trojan Ecstasy. I’ve also experimented with the female condom. I like the feeling but but sometimes bump into the, uh, deep end of it and that can be a little painful.

Wow, for an “expert” in the industry you sure don’t know much about condoms. You should NEVER, EVER, EVER double up condoms…latex on latex greatly increases the chance that a condom will break. Condoms ARE NOT designed for that.

Go online and do some reasearch on the topic, don’t take my word for it. I highly advise you to stop the practice of doubling up. You are putting yourself at greater risk.

I have luckily never had a condom break. I give all the credit to using lube and keeping an eye on things. I also do double up during intercourse… sounds a little over-kill but really, there is no such thing. I never get the ribbed version either since any sort of oral would be odd with one on. I know some girls who do use ribbed since they think it gives people who are not used to condoms more sensation than just smooth latex. Don’t really know if that theory is true or not.

I never will use a customers condom (though I have sure seen some funky old ones wadded up in people’s toiletry bags on the counters of their bathrooms!) I also never have had a customer claim they are allergic to latex… which I find interesting since I know a girl who is allergic (a non-working friend that is. Either way, no issues with the new condoms and I will make sure there is never an issue!

I guess thinner material for the product equate to more profits. Guess it will be a while for your comfort level to be achieved if ever. Wish they had durability test results published with the box so you can tell if it is as strong as the previous product. Think this will affect your performance?
